GMDN Membership General Structure
GMDN Members have access to all GMDN terms via the Internet. It is recognised that only specific terms relating to a manufacturers range of products will be searched, and the access to the desired GMDN code will be immediately available providing the manufacturer or other user has purchased one of the “Access Packs” to cover the required range of products. These packs allow identification of codes for specific device terms (for small users as low as 20 codes, but for other users up to 2,000 codes). This system is flexible and additional packs can be requested. Membership Membership of GMDN is available to a range of users:

Membership Renewal Membership must be renewed annually (except where specifically excluded) to ensure continued access and search capability to the database. In most cases renewal costs are at a reduced rate from the initial joining fee. Licences are issued for individual specific links for special purposes and will be for periods as agreed, normally not less than 12 months. Existing License Holders Those licensees still covered by an existing licence agreement will be entitled to receive access to the “internet link” scheme database for the duration of the existing licence. Renewal (i.e. transfer to new “Membership” scheme) will be available when the present licence expires, at the stated renewal costs under the new scheme. Further Licensing The extent of access under the Membership Scheme or under other Licences is limited to the restrictions and purposes specified in the appropriate schedules, and membership conditions as displayed on the site. Further licensing of the GMDN by a Member or Licensee for purposes such as: - “Integration into software applications” – is not covered, unless specifically the subject of a particular agreement between GMDN Agency and the party concerned.
